Who is responsible
The Philly Made US Foundation Inc is the data controller for personal information it collects through this website. Contact melvin@pmuf.org or 267-270-7102 with privacy questions or requests.
Information and purposes
Booking enquiries collect your name, email, organization, optional phone number and event details, including any message you submit, so we can respond and arrange engagements or book orders. Prologue signups collect your email to record your request and provide the free excerpt. Purchase records include transaction references, purchase status and hashed access credentials so we can verify eligibility, provide private downloads and respond to payment disputes. Hosting and analytics services may process IP addresses, browser and device information, page visits and operational logs for website operation, aggregate measurement, troubleshooting and security. Rate limiting stores hashed identifiers rather than the raw grief text. We do not receive or store full payment-card numbers; payment details are handled by Paddle.
Optional AI submissions
If you request a grief reflection or passage explanation, the text you submit is sent to our AI service providers to generate the response. The website does not save submitted grief descriptions, passages or generated responses in its application database. The AI providers process requests under their own service and retention arrangements; we do not promise that providers never retain data. Do not include information you do not wish to share with those providers, confidential third-party information, or unnecessary identifying details. Buyer access credentials are not sent to the AI model. These features are optional.
Legal grounds
Where applicable, we rely on contract performance and steps requested before a contract to fulfil purchases and respond to booking enquiries; legitimate interests to operate, secure and improve the website and handle support; consent where required for optional communications, analytics or sensitive information submitted to AI features; and legal obligations for financial records, tax compliance and lawful requests. You may withdraw consent by contacting us without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Who receives information
We use hosting, storage, analytics, AI and support service providers to operate the website. Paddle, our Merchant of Record, receives information needed for product sales, payments, tax compliance, invoicing, purchase support and refunds. We may share necessary information with professional legal or accounting advisers and authorities when required by law. Purchases completed on Amazon are handled under Amazon’s privacy practices.
Retention
We retain enquiry and signup records while needed to respond to your request, manage the relationship or honour your communication preferences. Purchase and financial records are retained for applicable accounting, tax, dispute and legal requirements. Operational and abuse-prevention data is kept only as needed for security and troubleshooting. We review records and delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed, unless a legal obligation requires retention. Ask us about the retention applicable to your particular record.
Security and your choices
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encrypted connections, access controls and private audiobook storage. No system is perfectly secure. Keep your purchase access link private. Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your personal data, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent. Contact melvin@pmuf.org; we may verify your identity before responding. You may complain to the relevant privacy regulator. Where GDPR applies, we normally respond within one month and honour the rights and permitted exceptions it provides.
Cookies, storage and international processing
Essential cookies or browser storage may support checkout, security and purchase access. Analytics services may process device or visit information; we do not use this website to run targeted advertising. Browser settings let you block or clear cookies and storage, although doing so may disrupt checkout or remove local purchase access. Where optional cookie-based analytics requires consent, it must not run without that consent. Providers may process information in countries outside your location. Where required, international transfers use applicable safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. Contact us for details about the providers and safeguards relevant to your request.
